3 Must DO’s Before Showing Up For Your Photo Session With The Kiddos!

Okay so let’s talk a little bit about some things that you can do to guarantee that your session goes smoothly each and every time when you’re bringing along the kiddos.

# 1 Make sure Baby is well Rested.

Make sure your kiddo has gotten some good sleep the night before and if they nap at certain times, make sure you schedule around their nap and NOT during it.

Scheduling at a time that is best for the kiddo is actually worth while for parents because they're kid is less likely to be hungry, or tired.

One of my favorite times for sessions are the GOLDEN HOUR about 1 hour before the sunset. The light is beautiful and it creates super warm and sweet tones in the photos.

This is  a great time to head out with your photographer because #1 it wears you kiddo out & #2 It's right after dinner and your kiddo will be ready to PLAY for an hour or so!

# 2 Make sure Baby has Eaten recently.

You know you get "HANGRY" when you haven't eaten, well so do your kiddos. One of the things I always check for with my 11 year old is, "Are you Hungry? Want to grab a snack?" It makes for a whole world of difference when it comes to cooperation and attitude!

I also always suggest to have a snack with you when you're out just incase the kiddo(s) get hungry too. It's much better to have something just in case instead of having nothing.

# 3 DO. NOT. USE. BRIBERY.

NO. BRIBING.

PERIOD.

End of statement.

Bribery falls unto deaf ears when it comes to kids. If you want your kids to cooperate and have a good session just trust in your photographer to be able to work with them to get the best results!

I have a ton of tricks up my sleeves that I use with kids along with tons of validation on what a great job they're doing (which makes them feel like GOLD, I mean seriously we could all use more of that in our lives!) and play games with them to keep them interested.

When bribery comes into play then if the kid doesn't behave the "PRIZE" is threatened and then they get upset and don't want to cooperate anymore. Trust me I see it enough to know!

So use encouragement, let your guard down for ONE HOUR and let them be kids and just have FUN! It's totally worth it in the end, I promise!

Thanks for reading along, let me know what you thought!
