What a crazy 10 days we had driving up and down the East Coast! We decided to go to Clearwater, Florida to meet up with our Brother in Law, Sister in Law and Niece and visited a few friends and places on the way.
We stopped down in RVA to see two old friends. We went out to dinner and hung out until late in the morning then woke up and went to my most favorite place in the entire world Maymont Park. I wish we could have stayed longer in Richmond. It was really nice to be back home for a day. It was also crazy how all the stars aligned for me to see my two friends after so long, it was perfect!
We headed out of RVA and off to Savannah, Georgia. We got a hotel right in the heart of the city and we were able to walk up and down the historic district when we got in. We went and ate dinner at this cute little restaurant and then headed back for the night. The next day we spend the morning walking around the historic water front which was so amazing. I was really in awe of the architecture and the trees! They were so amazing! I love that my son has an eye for photography as well. He photographed things along with me as we went. I’ll have to do another blog post to include his pics!
After we were done in Savannah for the day we went to Tybee Island and visited the Lighthouse there. We climbed all 178 stairs stood at the top and the view was absolutely breathtaking! After we were done checking out the lighthouse we went to the beach for a few hours. It was so nice and we really all are fish! We love the beach so much, if we ever move that is one of the things that we have to have.
We left the beach around 2pm and headed to Clearwater. We ended up booking a place in Port Richey instead which is about an hour north of Clearwater and stayed there for 5 days. We visited a beautiful beach there for the first day and then headed out to see our niece! We spend several days in and around the Clearwater area. We were able to spend a day at the beach there and even met up with an old friend from Buffalo, his Girlfriend & their baby! Then we spent an afternoon learning how to surf which was pretty amazing too. My kid never ceases to amaze me, ever.
After spending a few days there we heading back up north and made our way up to Charleston, SC. I can’t even express how beautiful it is down there. When you walk into the center of the that city, it’s like you’re stepping back in time hundreds of years. It was so amazing! We spent the day walking around the city enjoying going back in time. We had our picture drawn, visited one of the oldest liquor stores in the entire country, grabbed some amazing BBQ and had a great morning. Then we spent 5 hours at an amazing outdoor skate park and the boys had so much fun skating all day. In the afternoon we traveled to Folley Beach on a locals suggestion and it didn’t disappoint. It was lovely!
We left from there and headed up to Charlotte, NC hit up a skate park during the day and then headed home. Overall it was a pretty amazing journey and I love that we can do this with each other! Ant has seen so much of the country now. Now we need to take it overseas and start traveling there as well!. Thanks for reading along! LIVE.LAUGH.PHOTO. LOVE, ARIEL
