The full story on my rebrand and a view into the people behind the logo.
It all started with an idea and 3 people. A photographer and two very talented graphic artists who specialize in custom hand drawn lettering, brand identity and so much more!
This year has already been such a fun adventure for me. Going into year 3 of being a full time photography company comes with a lot of responsibility! You have to have an immense amount of love for the art. You have to be able to see a moment as it happens. And you have to have a decided viewpoint of knowing that you are capturing memories for people that can never be replaced.
With all of this in mind, I decided it was time to rebrand my company and really take it to the next level! So without further delay, I introduce you to the two creative minds behind the design team, Tyler and Miranda with Kraken Grafik.
The process of rebranding yourself can be pretty freakin' scary, like not gonna lie! It's a whole new ball game, one that hopefully changes the way people view your brand.
It's that move you make that could really change the way a person views your company and your design, your talent and your skill. It's such an important thing for businesses to have. It's brand identity. I bet in a million years you won't forget what Target's symbol is, right? Nope. You won't. It's brand identity and it's a powerful tool to have on your side.
Both Tyler and Miranda were completely attentive and responsive. So a pretty great part of this whole process was being able to talk with someone on the other end, when I needed to and not a machine. One of the very best feelings a person can have is being included in a project.
Right from the beginning when I contacted Tyler, he called me back and we scheduled an in person meeting. IN PERSON! Not for nothing but these days it seems all too common to discuss things over the phone, via email or instant messenger. This was a huge relief to me! Especially knowing I was about to delve into the unknown with something that was really important to me and my company.
As an artist I understand how people draw inspiration from art, and elements in everyday life. This has been done for centuries over and over. I also have an understanding the artists that use other inspiration to arrive at a new idea are the artist that really shine. I brought some of the art that inspired me when I was young to look at. I wanted to somehow incorporate this into the logo. Tyler and Miranda were able to take those concepts and ideas and turn them into new pieces of art with small elements of design drawn from the very inspirations I grew up with.

Week by week we went through the design process together. Each time we met we came up with a new idea, a new element to add to the project. It was exactly what I needed. Another set of minds of which to bounce ideas. Another person to visualize what I wanted to create and actually make it happen.
I was able to really communicate what it was that I needed and wanted and then it was delivered. The end result was astonishing and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. It's not just a logo, it's a brand. It's a new me.
Lastly I really have to stress the fact, that the letters "AHP" in my logo are not going to be found anywhere else. You know why? It's because they are custom hand drawn letters designed by the team. They were drawn by hand and created just for me! Um, that's pretty amazing!
So I can now sit back and relax, rest assured that my brand will do great things. It will withstand the test of time for my company. It will bring new and exciting projects to the table, and it was totally well worth it! I couldn't have done it with out them. Their eye for creating a visual representation of an idea is next to none.
I highly recommend when you are at the point of really making the jump of rebranding to do so. It might be scary to think about, but in the end it's the right move. With the right people by your side you can do some amazing things.
Tyler, Miranda and I will be spending their big day together coming up on August 1st, so stay tuned for their super amazing vintage wedding!
Hope you enjoyed reading along today and stay tuned for the next DIY project coming soon!
